The Daily Entrepreneur: Twittpertunity, White House Buzz, and Dino Philanthropy

Of course, the one day I go off the grid there's an incredible amount of great content about social entrepreneurship and innovation, including some sultry tips about the yet-to-be-formally-announced White House Office of Social Innovation. First some sad news:
- The Anti-Genocide Community Loses One of its Best: Last night's plane crash near Buffalo, NY was a tragedy all around, but the pain is felt accutely in the anti-genocide community, which lost author, researcher, and activist Alison Des Forges. Her work on Rwanda was one of the catalyzing factors in my personal development and she will be sorely missed.
- Twitter Fills the Tank: More happily, Twitter gets another round of funding - some $35 million (via Fred Wilson at A VC). This should be exciting to all of us because it shows that there is still some capital flowing. But it should be especially exciting to social entrepreneurs because of Twitters capacity to change the relationship with our stakeholders, as well as the plethora of new businesses we could build around their API.
- Renata Rafferty on 'Dinosaur Philanthropy': Sean Stannard-Stockton posts a truly insightful comment about philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, and donor effectiveness that responded to one of his previous posts.
- More Social Innovation Agenda News..: Root Cause founder Andrew Wolk writes on his new blog a few juicy tidbits (rumors? news?) he's heard about the still-in-development White House Office of Social Innovation...
