SWF09 Interviews: Dr. Victoria Hale

SWF09 Interviews: Dr. Victoria Hale from Nathaniel Whittemore on Vimeo.

While this isn't in her official bio, Dr. Victoria Hale is, to sum it up, a badass. Founder of the Institute for OneWorld Health, Dr. Hale's mission is to create structures, markets, and firms that ensure that even the poor have access to the health care technology that we have available and that people aren't priced out of the treatment they need. OneWorld Health takes promising treatments for developing world diseases that traditional pharma doesn't see much of an opportunity for and takes them through the expensive market-preparation process. She's now building a new organization, Medicines360.

HOT ROCKS!!!   I've just posted a link to this video interview to the website of former Peace Corps Volunteers, encouraging RPCVs looking for employment to listen to the very helpful advise provided by Dr Hale.

There are almost 8,000 Peace Corps Volunteers in the field today, and there needs to be 20,000!!!

Technology and networking are key factors affecting our ability to achieve successful outcomes in the developing world today.

Communication advances allow for rapid adaptation ability to change on the fly.  This is critical for those of us who want to move away from older models of  development assistance which don't reach down to the grass-roots.
