Guest Bloggers: Introducing Jason Saul and Mission Measurement

Over the course of the next few weeks, I'll be introducing a number of incredible guest bloggers. These new voices will each represent some important piece of the social entrepreneurship puzzle - from education innovators to trackers of mobile technology. The goal is to help this space continue to grow into an information clearinghouse and depo for learning about and acting around this exciting emerging field.
This morning, we'll be posting a provocative piece about measuring social impact written by Jason Saul, the Founder and CEO of Mission Measurement. Mission Measurement is a strategy consulting firm that works with nonprofits, education initiatives, and corporate social responsibility programs to measure, package and communicate their social impact. Their simple no nonsense approach that emphasizes helping groups design simple and clear strategies for achieving better results is a breath of fresh air. Jason has been a recognized expert on social performance benchmarking for years. He is is a lecturer at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and serves on the faculty of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship . Before founding Mission Measurement, he founded the Center for What Works. He is the author of Benchmarking for Nonprofits: How to Manage, Measure and Improve Performance, awarded Best Business Book of the Year in 2005 by the Independent Publishers Association.
Finally, like Kanye West, Common, Fall Out Boy and the Smashing Pumpkins, Jason holds it down in the Windy City of Chicago, IL, where he was (unlike Kanye) recently recognized as one of Crain's Chicago Business "40 under 40" emerging business leaders. We're thrilled to have Jason and his team at Mission Measurement as guest bloggers!
