Coke is spending millions to spin its image green, ask, "what is the real thing, really?"
Why this petition matters
This Earth Day, Coke is spending millions to spin its image green, leading us to ask, "what is the real thing, really?"
Send a message to CEO Muhtar Kent today and join the thousands that have already taken action.
Instead of responding to the concerns of tens of thousands who have taken action through Think Outside the Bottle, Coke has launched a green PR blitz.
For one, Coke is claiming to be working toward "water neutrality." Really? By our logic, that's a tall order for a transnational beverage corporation that profits from selling water and is seeking to expand its operations and profits across the globe.
Coke also seeks praise for building a recycling plant to manage a small fraction of its waste stream, while at the same time opposing bottle recycling bills across the country. Can that really be considered green? Hardly.
Let Muhtar Kent know we see through the PR campaigns and the sponsorships.
It's time for Coke CEO Kent to get real and answer directly to the public's concerns.
Onward,
Patti Lynn
Campaigns Director
